Rubber Side Down Base Layer

The team at Rubber Side Down are new to the game but don’t let that fool you when it come to technical garments and a team of professionals that have their finger on the pulse with what the mountain bike market needs.

When putting big days on the bike it’s a balance of bringing what you need with snacks, tools, tubes but not having too much on your bike or body. A lot of the new bikes have a storage container for the tools and spares but putting your phone, gels, food or supplements in your bike isn’t ideal. I personally don’t like wearing hydration pack if I don’t have too. That leaves me using my short or pant pockets which makes it harder to pedal when stuff is swinging around. I have used bibs with storage but they aren’t ideal in my opinion because the pockets tend to sag with weight.\

The team at Rubber Side Down has worked really hard developing a Base layer that has pockets in the back that keep your belongings tight against your back with out bouncing around like some bibs with cargo on the market. The base layer also helps keep you cool on hot days and when you have a Dad bod like me it helps pull in the pudding haha… I also want to point out the base layer is true to fit. I’m a large jersey and I wear a large base layer.

The question is should you add the Rubber Side Down Base Layer to your gear bag? I would say 100% this is a great piece of gear that can be used for all types of riding and to make the day a little easier. If you aren’t sold by just the technical side of things the product is all made in Australia where they do not take cheap route on material or manufacturing.
