Asterisk Carbon Cell

I have been using Asterisk knee braces from the very beginning when the Castillo family launched the brand. Asterisk was the first knee brace that was purpose built for the motocross rider that could not afford a custom CTI knee brace. That is ironic because the founder and mastermind of CTI is Jim Castillo. Once Jim and the family sold the CTI brand you could tell they knew there was a place for an affordable knee brace that performed like a custom brace and that is where the Asterisk brace came from.

Like most things it takes time to develop a product that hits all the marks the first year. Asterisk is a product that hasn’t changed a whole lot over the years. The things that have changed the most are the straps. They used draw strings, boa and Velcro to hold your knee braces in place, but the design of the brace has been unchanged until now.

The all new Carbon Cell has taken the ultra-cell to an all new level. Weight and comfort are two things that most moto riders are looking for. The new and improved frame is much sleeker and lean on your legs and the limit adjustment is so simple to install that you can easily over think the install of the stoppers. With the brace being so sleek and light weight that it’s hard to believe you have the same protection as bigger bulkier braces. I feel very confident in the new brace after putting almost 50 hours on mine. I don’t have any issues ripping my pants or damaging the side of my bike with this new Carbon cell brace. I currently am using the largest stopper and I feel like I could go a little less extension due to knee injuries when I was younger.

There are opinions out there about whether a knee brace is bad for you because you lose feel of the motorcycle and theory’s shoe it could break your femur trying to save your knee from being damaged. I personally won’t ride with out a knee brace when I ride. They give me confidence and safety, but I’m not trying to sway you one way or another on what is best but I can say that if you are in the market for knee braces there isn’t a brace on the market that protects your knee and allows you to move around on the bike like an Asterisk Carbon Cell.
