Uki Mountain Bike Park

UKI Mountain Bike Park

It was about 6 months ago I heard about the UKI mountain bike park and just haven’t had time to get down to Uki to ride what seems to be a great little riding area. Mason and I loaded up the Van and drove the 90 min drive to Uki, NSW from the Northern end of the Gold Coast early December 2023. In the drive we lost an hour with day light savings so now we would be riding in the heat with having to make a stop for some breakfast. I have never been to Uki so I was lucky to find a rad little spot called the Village for a good coffee and breakfast wrap. The servings were generous, and the food was tasty.

If it’s your first time at the bike park, make sure you slow down as you can miss the entrance. The entrance is a one lane road and there isn’t a ton of parking so get there early as we had to park in the sun but there is parking in the shade. There is free parking at the park for up to 20 cars. Please do not park in adjacent streets or on neighboring properties. If the car park is full, there is an option to park in the Uki township, which is approximately 3 km away. There are three portable toilets on location and a drinking fountain.

Before hitting the trails, you pass by the pump track and if you are wanting to shred the pump track set you expectation low as it’s built for more of a Strider or Stacyc but a great edition for the little ones.

Once you see the trails you know you are in for a good session. The up trail is built extremely well and navigates up the grass before winding through the trees before arriving at the Summit. The Summit has some shade and 5 trails to descend. Mason and I rode all of them and I have to say they are all really fun and built really well.

Teal for Real, Flow Daisy, Flocka Pigeons, Flow Daisy, are the blue runs and offer very similar flow. Flow Daisy is the only trail out of these that you need to check your speed on the second half as the jumps are smaller than trail speed. Rolling is a blast for all levels as it’s built like a pump track all the way down to the trail head.

Blackjack is the only Black Diamond and I can tell you the YouTube videos that I have watched from Blackjack don’t do it justice. The doubles are big and have steep landings with a sharp deck on them so you need grease them or you could get bucked. Let me be clear they are built right for a black diamond trail. Check the Below YouTube video for a run down all of the trails

Overall, we had an absolute blast and I highly recommend riding UKI if you are within a two-hour radius or in the area. The climb isn’t bad at all and if you have e-bike you will be doing lap after lap. The soil is a clay base, and the berms are epic so you can work on your technique and speed. The park offers a trail for all bikes and all levels it’s not build just for you Enduro Bros.

The park covers more than 6.4 km and includes:

8 mountain bike trails:

1 climbing trail (green)

7 descending trails:

3 green trails (beginner)

3 blue trails (more difficult)

1 black diamond trail (very difficult)
