Fontana Enduro
After getting my ass handed to me at the Vail Lake Mountain Bike Enduro I was a little pissed, and a lot motivated to improve my personal goals. I have been very busy the last year with the family and not really having too many personal goals set for the mountain bike, so I decided to hunker down and get back on a program that has worked for me in the past. My Wife and kids are visiting family in Australia for the next month so this ia perfect time to get back on it.
The Program
Monday- 2 ½ hr road ride Heart rate under 165
Tuesday- Casual Ride day working on skill and bike set up max time under 2 hours
Wednesday- Intervals 2 minute all out with 2 minute rest repeat 4 times
Thursday- Pump track/Dirt Jumps
Friday- 1 hour recovery spin
The above program will vary due to the amount of volume I put in on my motorcycle testing during the week and how my body feels but for the most part this is what I aim for.
After only a week back on my program I went out to Southridge to have another crack at racing a staged ednuro. The course was really fun and I felt pretty good in both stages. I came away with 4th overall and my times had improved about 15% from the week before. I chose to race my Intense Tracer and because the confidence in the bike descending would help me focus on the pedaling sections more. It’s always nice when you see some progress form your efforts. I’ll continue this program to the best my time allows.
